‘Ello! ‘Ello! How has your week been? Good? I hope it was or soon will be filled with God-winks and delightful moments from the Lord showing up!
Today’s poem comes from this last week’s poetry prompt. The prompt?
‘Incorporate words or phrases from street signs near you into a poem.’
Ooohhh, another ‘found poem’. If you are unsure what a found poem or found poetry is, then I share about it on this post, ‘The Son Rises’, about two weeks ago.
So, yes found poetry can be a lot of fun and can also pose a challenge as your mind can swim with many different angles of how to incorporate the words or phrases seen out in the ‘wild’ in your poem. The poem below I utilized signs of the roads I live around.
Off of I-10 High 10 east to west to the summit of ground level, a Tailspin down streams of oaks and springs along the confines of streets nowhere close to valleys nor cold in any sense, through maybe in February~ Through the Easement, STOP! All way, a sentiment to look around, slow down and take a breath for the blossoms aroma on air creeks mixed with maple and a neighborhoods links to forests in Sherwood~ Simple causeways in any and every direction, scenic in nature with ivy and hazel mix along reservoirs filled to the brim~ ready the nature trails to walk with clarity. ~By: A.J. What kind of poem could come to life with the signs from around where you live? I dare you to try to write a poem. Feel free to share it in the comments or something or a link wherever you share poetry!
**Signs are great and all, but still I prefer flowers ‘found’ on my walks!
Have a wonderful day and weekend! May God’s face shine upon you and you feel the smile and warmth of His love envelope you!
Blessings!
