'Consecrate It All'
To sit for a hour and write what comes to the mind
Wonderful Wednesday to you all!
Last Thursday at a networking event I met someone who hosts a hour writing time where you meet up in a café with a group of writers and write for a hour. I wanted to try it out, so I went Tuesday night and I wrote 9, yes NINE, poems.
As I am leaving with my daughter for Florida on Sunday to visit my family, I am going to schedule those 9 poems for the next couple of weeks.
I hope you come along for the ride on where these poems go.
I can say to sit in a café and write for a hour can be a daunting thought process where you wonder ‘will I get the writing I want to do done or no? will I have enough words?’ and so on and so forth of where the mind can lead.
But I got one more than what I intended to write, so I’m excited to share them.
Consecrate It All
Sit.
Write.
Music plays.
Patrons for gelato
Or a latte
And in the noise
The mind wanders,
The eyes roam,
And the heart yearns
For sweet company~
Sit.
Write.
Music plays.
No matter the noise
Zone into the thoughts
Of wild possibilities,
But take a breath
And consecrate it all.

©️2026As a follower of Jesus it stands imperative to take the thoughts captive and to consecrate every part of our lives. Sometimes multiple times in a day.
The poem above started with my mind all over the place and came to the conclusion of I need to take my own thoughts captive and consecrate them to the Lord. A good reminder for me at times.
How about you? Do you find time to consecrate your thought life or any other aspects of your life?
Now may the grace of God shine upon you and keep you and may His love fill you with comfort and grace! He so adores each one of you!
Blessings!
